Hand Cutting & Sawing
Cut off & ring Saw
Hand sawing is commonly used for cutting out openings in concrete, block work, brick & stone and is a godsend when uneven surfaces are present. We usually use this type of equipment for doorways and windows however this equipment is light and mobile & can be used for a multitude of works, with a cutting depth of 260mm (ring saw) its becoming more popular as technology progresses. All hand sawing opperations use water to suppress dust which can be controlled.

Hand sawing is limited to depth of cut but there are ways to increase this depth by carving out sections as we go. This large 400mm granite lintle was obstructing a roof slab poor. We used a ring saw to part this lintle from the building as access was impossible for larger equipment.

Hand sawing is so valuble to a project if there are so many uneven surfaces present. A good operative can cut large runs such as this roof project which was over 100ft long. The operative can also monitor the depth of the cut as they are progressing, this really is only possible by hand. You can see by the picture this cut was through stone and granite which had to be reduced for the roof slab, this cut varied from 100mm to 300mm.
